Association for the Promotion of Crop Plant Research
Our association, founded in 1993, has set itself the goal of promoting research at the IPK both ideally and financially. In particular, the Center for Plant Genetic Resources shall be further developed and research in the fields of taxonomy and evolution, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and physiology on crop plants shall be promoted.
Tasks of the Community
the promotion of young scientists by awarding the Gatersleben Research Prize and the Rudolf Mansfeld Prize; additionnally the Visiting Program for Scientists from Transition Countries in Europe will be supported;
to promote the collection, conservation and scientific processing of plant genetic resources and to ensure their unrestricted availabilit;
to promote cooperation with all persons, associations, organizations or institutions in Germany and abroad interested in crop plant research;
to support scientific meetings, publications and other information for the public;
to initiate other appropriate measures to achieve the purpose of the Community.
