The DFG Emmy Noether Research Group “Functional Plant Structure” at the IPK studies the mechanisms of barley stem growth and grain yield determination.

Your tasks:

  • Design and execute GWAS analyses to identify genetic loci associated with architectural traits in barley.
  • Planning, supervising and analyzing large-scale RNA-seq data
  • Presenting and publishing results in conferences and scientific journals

Your qualifications and skills:

  • You have a PhD in plant biology, agricultural science or any related fields.
  • You have a strong background in plant genetics and architectural development.
  • You are familiar with plant tissue sectioning or microscopy (confocal, fluorescence, stereomicroscope).
  • Basic knowledge of bioinformatic pipelines and workflows such as R and Linux is a strong plus.
